Is something rotten in the state of Denmark? A post at Duration-Driven flags five issues that could mean your PMO is losing its way. The first sign is a decline in motivation by your team. If they stop feeling enthusiasm for the PMO, it opens the door for everyone else to share that feeling. Similarly, lagging performance is the second sign. Of course, hiccups in performance and delivery are normal from time to time, but if it is happening too often for your taste, you had better investigate.
The third sign is high turnover, which speaks for itself. And the last two signs—lack of cooperation and finger pointing—go together. PMOs are inherently about bringing views into sync. If people splinter off and work against each other, then there is no surer sign that the PMO needs some work.
